Geez Michael - new categories are popping up left and right - might be neat to put your BST for each section as its own category.

Never heard of this place, but it's in Krause as it's own country "Kiau Chau" as German Occupation coinage for one year only - 1909. Here is the 1909 5-cent piece ...

In this CU post I got the numbers wrong:

http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=372621&highlight_key=y&keyword1=1858

If I re-read the reports correctly and didn't mess up the math the melt numbers are closer to this:

$150,000 in Twenty Cent pieces were minted in 1858. This dollar amount is listed in the 1891 British Royal Mint Annual Report and is repeated in the 1906 Report as well. This equates to 750,000 coins; the figure listed in the Krause ...

I'm not into notes. I have a bunch pulled form circ for the SN's, and some large size, but no real interest. So I've never really studied what make a note great.

I do have an interesting $2 in a Mill C&C set with a SN of 20007777. Is something like that worth getting graded?

Being a C&C collector I have a couple star notes also.

To me they all look like new money.

In what direction is the classic 'widget' coin going?

So, first post on this forum. A first for me

Anywho, with the rise in coin prices over the last few years. And I mean $100-$500 classics, and the splitting of the grade for a given coin or series, (PQ or entombed) it seems to me that we are at the top.

Plus

Any collection built over the last ten years is going to need to be regraded to get any where near the return it should. Gradeflation can be good and bad, but it still going to cost you.
